Gathering at La Tierra to Collaborate & Create

Why Do We Remind One Another of the Artist Within?

Art is not a luxury.

It is not extra.

It is your birthright.

To create is to claim your place in the story of life.

There is something sacred in reminding another person that they are an artist. Not because we want them to be like someone else. Not because we think they need fixing. But because we know, deep down, that they’ve simply forgotten.

We remind each other of the artist within as an invitation; an invitation to return, to remember, to begin again.

Somewhere along the way, many of us were told we weren’t creative.
Maybe it was a careless comment from a teacher.
Maybe it was a comparison that stuck too deep.
Maybe life just got busy, and survival became more important than making something beautiful.

Here’s a truth; creativity doesn’t disappear. It simply waits. It waits in the quiet corners; beneath daily tasks, behind forgotten daydreams, inside the pull to doodle, hum, rearrange, or imagine.

When someone gently turns to us and says, “You’re still an artist,” something begins to stir again. We remind each other not only with words, but with presence.
We create openly so others feel safe to do the same. We tell stories of childhood joys; of blanket forts and sidewalk chalk and the songs we used to sing.

This kind of remembering is an act of healing and a kind of love.

We ask one another:

What do you long to express?

How do you wish to express it; how will you release that feeling, memory, or emotion into the world?

What wants to be made, even if it’s messy?

We say, “There’s no right way. There’s just your way.”

So why do we remind one another of the Artist within?

When a person reconnects with the artist living within themselves, they reconnect with something essential, their voice, their magic, their joy, their power. The world becomes more whole; one brushstroke, one poem, one stitch, one song, one handmade offering at a time.

So, we remind each other, softly and often. We hold up a mirror to what has always been there inside, and we whisper:

“You haven’t lost it. You are an artist by nature. Let it live.”

Are you ready to explore with the Artist that lives inside of you?

Are you ready to leave your unique mark on this beautiful world?

Join us in August at La Tierra in the splendor of the Mountains of Colorado for a gentle and restorative gathering to reconnect with yourself, the earth and others through creative expression and nature-based practices.

This is a safe and welcoming space to slow down, soften the nervous system and begin to heal through art, movement, and shared presence. No experience is needed. This is about process, not product. We believe everyone holds a creative spirit within, just waiting to be set free. Come and create with us!
